Washable by hand, ironing max. level 1. In the production of Walkloden, woven or knitted fabrics are artificially felted by fulling (rubbing, pressing, kneading) in a warm water bath. Due to the influence of heat and water, the scale structure of wool breaks open and the adjacent fibers hook into each other.
Boiled wool is like a miracle material. The contraction of the wool fibers encloses a large number of air chambers, which later serve as a buffer against cold (and heat). Perfect temperature regulation. Due to the compression of the material, drops of water simply roll off the surface of the fabric.
Boiled wool has optimal wearing properties. It is wind-resistant, dirt- and water-repellent. Drops just roll off. Although fulled fabric is so light, it can absorb a lot of moisture without feeling damp.
Merinowalk is a buffer against cold and keeps the temperature constant under clothing. Due to the natural lanolin content of the wool, Walk is self-cleaning, which means that when dry, mud can simply be tapped off or brushed out. Merino wool has an antibacterial effect and bad odors disappear simply by airing.
