Welcome to Urmelis Stoffwelt!

Anita, like so many others, discovered her passion for sewing after the birth of her children. Always looking for unusual fabrics, the idea of starting my own fabric shop came up. This is how Urmelis Stoffwelt was created in 2012 on around 50m2 with a shop in Bremgarten. In addition to colorful fabrics, there was already a small but fine selection of patterns, ribbons and sewing accessories. The first in-house production, the Chnüblimonster, soon followed.

Brigitte joined at the beginning of 2014. She can now be found with us almost every day and also works a lot in the background. With her extensive sewing experience, she always has advice. She enjoys testing our latest patterns and fabrics and loves sewing clothes and bags for herself and her family.

The store wasn't open every day back then, and we only shipped things 2 to 3 times a week. So that we could change this, we looked for another team member. This is how Chantal found her way to us in mid-2015! We already knew her as a loyal shop customer, each time with a new bag. Even today she still enjoys sewing bags and most of her clothes are sewn herself.

Our range grew and grew and the store in Bremgarten slowly became too small. So in 2017 we found the perfect new location in Wohlen. At almost 150m2 and with a lot of charm, it offers enough space for all kinds of fabrics and everything your sewing heart desires. We have expanded our range and are no longer the fabric store that only has children's fabrics. There are also all kinds of women's fabrics, bag fabrics, various sewing accessories, ribbons for everything and also wool!

In 2020 we were able to welcome two new employees. Karin is a trained upholsterer and loves sewing new clothes and bags for the whole family. She was also already known to us as a customer.

We already knew Claudia from the Advent calendar project back then. She not only sews herself and her family, but also her dog. For years she has also been attending sewing weekends, where she can sew in peace with like-minded people.
