In the production of boiled wool loden, woven or knitted fabrics are artificially felted by boiled wool (rubbing, pressing, and kneading) in a warm water bath. The influence of the heat and water breaks down the scale structure of the wool, and the adjacent fibers interlock.

• As a rule, boiled wool wool cannot be washed. If you want to play it safe before sewing, you can iron the fabric. To do this, place a damp cloth between the fabric and the iron.
• Use Wonderclips to pin the layers of fabric together.
• Boiled wool doesn't fray and therefore doesn't require finishing. It's sewn with a zigzag or straight stitch.
• For sewing we recommend a Jersey sewing needle .
• boiled wool fabrics do not necessarily need to be lined. To maximize the benefits of boiled wool , a Lining with similar climate-regulating properties is recommended. This means that moisture must be easily wicked away without the fabric itself feeling damp. Natural fibers such as Cotton , wool, and silk are just as suitable as the synthetic fibers viscose, lyocell, and modal .
