Coarsely ribbed corduroy velvet – ideal for home decor and furniture upholstery, but also for trendy bags and fashionable clothing. This beautifully shimmering and velvety-soft wide corduroy impresses with its structure, great appearance, durability, and longevity.

Wanja has excellent abrasion resistance with a Martindale value of > 90,000 cycles (for context: For very heavy use in public areas, Martindale values of at least 40,000 cycles are recommended) – making the corduroy velvet suitable even as an upholstery fabric for sofas, armchairs, chairs and stools!

The dreamy, velvety soft material is ideal for cool pillows, expressive backpacks and shoppers or handbags.

The coarse rib makes it a real eye-catcher in clothing, too. WIDE corduroy is almost an understatement: Wanja features a fluffy rib with a full 1 cm width. For absolute statement pieces! Trendy corduroy jackets, trousers, and skirts – the textured corduroy has a nice drape and is very comfortable to wear. The shimmering velour fabric is also wonderfully easy to work with. You can also play with the direction and let the ribs run diagonally – for expressive, unique pieces.

This fabric frays, so neaten the edges with a zigzag stitch and sew together with a straight stitch. If using an overlock machine, the seam must be reinforced with a straight stitch in areas subject to stress.
