French terry, or summer sweat, is a stretchy fabric. Unlike other types of fabric, it is not knitted or woven, but warp-knitted. This creates the typical loop structure on the inside. The fabric falls softly and is very comfortable to wear, it is a bit firmer and has a better grip than jersey. French terry is perfect for jogging pants or hoodies.

• French terry is best sewn with an overlock machine, but the overlock stitch on a normal sewing machine or a zigzag also work well.
• The edges of the fabric curl less than normal jersey, making it easier to work with.
