Sweat fabrics are knitted fabrics and consist of intertwined loops. Unlike other knitted fabrics, such as jersey, sweat fabric has an additional thread knitted into the reverse side, which is then roughened. This makes the reverse side nice and cozy and warm. The fabric drapes softly and is very comfortable to wear; it is firmer and has a better grip than jersey. Sweat is perfect for sweatpants or hoodies. The name "sweat" is English and means "sweat," not to be confused with "sweet," which would mean "sweaty."
French terry, or summer sweat, is a stretchy fabric. Unlike other types of fabric, it is not knitted or woven, but warp-knitted. This creates the typical loop structure on the inside. The fabric falls softly and is very comfortable to wear, it is a bit firmer and has a better grip than jersey. French terry is perfect for jogging pants or hoodies.
