French terry, also known as summer sweat, is a stretchy fabric. Unlike other fabrics, it is not knitted or woven, but rather warp-knitted. This creates the typical looped texture on the inside. The fabric drapes softly and is very comfortable to wear; it is slightly firmer and has a better grip than jersey. French terry is perfect for sweatpants or hoodies.

Good to know
- Do you need a matching thread or amatching plain fabric ? We'll be happy to find the right one for you!
- French Terry is best sewn with an overlock machine, but the overlock stitch on a normal sewing machine or a zigzag stitch also work well.
- The edges of the fabric roll less than with normal jersey, which makes it easier to work with.
- The fabric may shrink by up to 5%.
- For sewing we recommend a jersey sewing needle , for hemming a twin needle is best.
- We deliver the fabric folded and it is cut in one piece.
- Colors may vary depending on your screen; we are happy to help with possible combinations.
Washing recommendation
The fabric is washable at 30°C, we recommend washing it ready-made.
