minky - embossed hearts mint

Minky is a fleece-like fabric made from polyester, but the yarn is significantly thinner than that of conventional polyester fabrics, such as regular fleece. The resulting minky therefore has a much larger surface area and is therefore particularly good at absorbing moisture. Sewing plush is no more difficult than sewing particularly thin, thick, slippery, or fraying fabrics, which present particular challenges. It is suitable for cozy blankets, pillows, comforters, or stuffed animals. The embossed dots give the fabric a truly stunning look.

Good to know

• We recommend using sharp scissors for cutting. These are more suitable than a rotary cutter.
• Plush should not be cut on the fold.
• Minky is lint-prone, so keep a vacuum cleaner or lint roller handy! Tip: To prevent lint, you can glue a book-like protective film to the right side of the fabric before cutting.
• Pin securely! Place a pin about every 1-2 cm to keep the fabric in place.
• The fabric does not fray, so simply sew with a straight stitch.
• For sewing we recommend a 90 universal needle .
• Polyester does not shrink, so the fabric does not need to be pre-washed.
• Unlike conventional fleece, the surface does not tend to pill and remains very supple for a very long time, even after many washes.
• We deliver the fabric folded and cut it in one piece.

Washing recommendation

Washable at 40°C, Minky should not be ironed or tumble dried
