softshell typically consists of two or three laminated membrane layers. The outer layer is usually made of synthetic fibers such as polyester, polyamide, or polypropylene, as these fibers wick moisture effectively without absorbing much themselves. The inner layer is made of fleece , which provides warmth and makes it pleasantly soft.

softshell is robust, soft, and comfortable, wicking moisture away from the body to prevent sweating. softshell jackets are water-repellent in light snow or rain, but not waterproof, so they are not recommended for prolonged downpours. This makes them the ideal companion in cooler temperatures, wind, and light precipitation.

Good to know

• Do you still need a suitable thread ? We'll gladly select the right one for you!
• softshell is easiest to fasten together with Wonder Clips ; pins leave unsightly holes.
• softshell is sewn with a straight stitch. We recommend a stitch length of 3.5–4 mm. The fabric doesn't fray, so finishing the edges isn't strictly necessary. However, the seams will be neater and flatter if they are finished with an overlock stitch.
• For sewing, we recommend a standard size 80 needle or a Microtex needle .
• Pre-washing softshell fabric is not necessary.
• The fabric is delivered in one piece and folded.
• Colors may vary depending on your screen; we are happy to help with combination options.

Washing instructions

softshell is washable at 30°C, ideally with liquid detergent for delicates. Let it air dry.
