Abby is a sewing tutorial and pattern for 7/8-length sweatpants with a button placket. Alternatively, you can also sew them as long pants, which gives Abby a completely different look. They're definitely an eye-catcher and far more than just regular sweatpants.
With the right color and fabric choices, you won't have to hide on the couch in Abby. Its cropped fit gives sneakers a cool look. In a subtle business pattern, it's also a great office companion with ballet flats or pumps. You can complete the look even further with a faux welt pocket or a patch back pocket.
The paper pattern for my Abby sweatpants includes a pattern in sizes 32-58. Abby is designed for slightly firmer, stretchy fabrics. Unbrushed sweatpants, brushed sweatpants, or similar fabrics are best. They should be a bit thicker and not too soft. You will also need ribbed fabric, interfacing H200, eyelets, cords, elastic, and snap fasteners or other buttons to decorate the button placket.
This article is a paper pattern > printed sewing instructions and a printed pattern in large format will be sent to you by post.
