Laminated or coated fabrics are printed cotton fabrics whose printed side is subsequently made water-repellent with a thin acrylic or PVC coating. Acrylic-coated fabric has a matte surface and is softer than PVC-coated cotton.
The advantages of both fabrics are that they are water-repellent and durable. The fabric edges don't fray and therefore don't need to be finished. When cutting, only the pattern direction needs to be considered, not necessarily the grain.
This is an acrylic coated linen fabric.
