Content of our Hobby Horse book:

In addition to the pattern for Hobby Horse sewing (with appliquéd or sewn-in nostrils), this book also contains many ideas and instructions for creating accessories. These include halters and lead ropes as well as simple and Mexican bridles, hackamores and martingales. Not to mention various blankets, riding crops, tournament bows, fly fringes and fly hoods. Also included are DIY instructions for a pallet stall and flexible obstacles for jumping. As a special icing on the cake, there are two clothing cuts in sizes 110-176 for hobby horsing: sporty leggings and a shirt in the typical equestrian look. All patterns are printed on the enclosed pattern sheets. In addition, the clothing patterns are also available digitally in individual sizes to print out yourself (in DIN A4 and DIN A0) using a download code contained in the book.

For owners of an embroidery machine, the face elements of the hobbyhorses are available in different versions as embroidery files for download, for the domestic hobby plotter there are corresponding plotter files. There are also files for various Hobby Horse motifs and statements for plotting clothing.

Differences to the kullaloo eBook "HOLLY"

The Hobby Horse pattern "HOPE" from our book "My Hobby Horse & I" differs in 3 essential points from our eBook Hobby Horse “HOLLY”:

• HOPE can be sewn either with sewn-on felt nostrils or with sewn-in 3D nostrils. With the sewn-in nostrils, HOPE looks a little more real. However, sewn-in nostrils should be shaded so that they really come into their own.
• HOPE is a pure hobbyhorse pattern, without modifications to hairdressing head, wall decoration & strap-on horse like HOLLY.
• HOPE is significantly slimmer, overall a bit smaller and more delicate than HOLLY. HOPE is therefore more suitable for actual hobby horsing, as it is easier to ride and jump with. In addition, HOPE looks a bit more "real" because it is not so round and therefore looks less childish. She comes much closer to the original Finnish hobby horses than HOLLY.

Can the instructions for accessories included in the book also be used for HOLLY horses?

Yes, definitely! However, HOLLY has a larger nape and thicker neck area overall. That's why you have to extend the length of the individual straps by 2-3 cm for halters and bridles. It is best to always check the lengths directly on the horse, then nothing should go wrong!
